5 March 2021 – ‘Living in the Love or Only the Terror’ by Nick Gardner:
They enter the trailhead through these Stonehenge-style monoliths which Dillon says were assembled by the paleolithic giants that inhabited this valley after the glaciers ground through. The fifteen-foot hominids redistributed moraines, stacking boulders into walls and houses. On days off they bathed in the newly formed great lakes.
12 March 2021 – ‘Static is Movement and Stillness All At Once’ by Alice Rogers:
Julien hates the noise of the radio while they drive, so he keeps it shut off, even if Simon wants badly for music to cut through the noise of the tires bumping over the loose earth of the plains.
19 March 2021 – ‘What Grief Is’ by Kinneson Lalor:
It’s missing noises like the gentle tap of nails as you walk from room to room, just checking nothing has changed in case some space has opened up that needs your affection.
26 March 2021 – ‘One Voice Mail’ by J. Kenny:
I’m calling to follow up on my job application. I emailed your wife about the position last month but I didn’t hear back about an interview. And then I saw the job still advertised today. And I’ve emailed another résumé through. I don’t know if it was a misprint or whatever. Those things happen, I can understand that.
