I want to read work that moves me, startles me, and, most of all, makes me think: ‘Wish I’d written that!’ A skilful flash fiction writer can condense a whole novel into a paragraph, and leave you feeling you’ve absorbed a whole novel in a few moments. I’m hoping to discover entire worlds coiled into a few carefully chosen words.

Judy Darley is a flash fiction writer, reader and reviewer, and co-judged National Flash Fiction Day’s micro fiction competition in 2019. Her flash fiction has been published widely in the UK, Canada, US and New Zealand. In her spare time, Judy runs culture blog Sky Light Rain, where she publishes weekly writing prompts as well as news about writing opportunities and reviews.
